Her father John Martin Magenau Jr. was the President and CEO of the Jackson Koehler Eagle Brewery in Erie Pennsylvania which had been founded in 1847. The brewery closed in 1978. Jacobs first started lessons in acting at the age of 8 and continued attending Saturday classes at Pittsburgh Playhouse. Mt. Jacobs graduated from Lebanon High School in New York in 2000.
